Habitat: Reef-associated; marine; prefer deep caves or sheltered reef areas. Distribution: Crawl Key and Wild Cane N of Bastimentos Island Natural History Notes: Collect in schools and feed on zooplankton, particularly the larval stages of invertebrates. Depth: 3 - 30m Characteristics: Body is a shiny copper colour with a dark band at the base of the anal fin and large eyes. Deep ventral profile. Juveniles are almost transparent, hence the name 'glassy'.
