Habitat: Reef-associated; marine; prefer shallow water. Distribution: Solarte Island. Natural History Notes: Mobile invertebrate feeder. During the day they drift about the opening of dark recesses such as dock pillings and reefs and forage in the open at night. Depth: 3 - 55 m Characteristics: Body surface has a strong red to bronze and salmon colouration. Two parallel horizontal white lines often cross the eyes. Tend to have a black spot belwo the rear dorsal fin and a dark streak from the eye to rear of the gill cover. Faint bar on base of tail sometimes present. Length 2 to max. 4.5 in
