Massive lobate (4-10 cm thick) to ramose. Color variable, from red and orenage to yellow-green externally, orange-yellow internally. Smooth, highly contractile. Oscules 0.3-1 cm wide. Dense, and compressible. Distribution: Tropical Atlantic, tropical Pacific, Antilles. Habitat: Common, on mangrove roots. Bocas Species Database Habitat: Common, on mangrove roots.
