Habitat: This Plain-brown woodcreeper can be found in humid forests and second-growth woodland and foothills in the lowlands. Distribution: This species has been reported from Honduras to northeastern Argentina and southeastern Brazil. Natural History Notes: This bird can be found following army ants or can be found foraging alone or in pairs, in middle tree levels. Conservation status according to IUCN 2008 Red list: Least Concern (LC). It is a resident species. Characteristics: This species has a total length of 8 inches (measured from tip of bill to end of tail). This bird has a black straight bill. It is characterized by a the top of the head and the back light brown. The wings are a little rufous red with beige tips. The sides of the head are grayish with a beige stripe. The part below is pale brown with beige stripes on the breast. The tail is rufous colored.
