Habitat: This species can be found in pratically any type of habitat, but will favor open woodland and forest edges and clearings. Distribution: The Black-billed Cuckoo breeds in eastern North American and will migrate south to northwestern South America. Natural History Notes: Conservation status according to IUCN 2008 Red list: Least Concern (LC). Characteristics: The total length of this species is 12 inches(measured from tip of bill to end of tail). The bill is all black and fairly slim and the tail is long, graduated and brown. We can distinguish a red eye-ring in the adult and a cream eye-ring in the immature. Otherwise, the part above is olive-brown and the part below is white. The feathers that compose that tail are white tipped.
