Habitat: This Wren species will favor dense bushes in clearings and grassy areas and gardens in the lowlands and foothills. Distribution: This species has been reported from southern Mexico to central Panama Natural History Notes: Conservation status according to IUCN 2008 Red list: Least Concern (LC). It is a resident species. Characteristics: This species has a total length of 13.4 cm (measured from tip of bill to end of tail). This bird is brown above with some gray coloration on the crown and a white stripe above the eye. The wings and the tail have gray stripes. The part below is mostly white but we can see some brown coloration on the sides of the body and some beige along the flanks and the lower belly. The birds reported from Bocas del Toro are bigger (16 cm) and have an overall darker plumage with more olive tones on the sides of the body.
