Habitat: Extremely common from sea level to 1600m on both slopes, occurring in open areas and agricultural land. Range: Northeastern United State to Uruguay and the West Indies. Distribution: Colon Island Characteristics: Sexes dimorphic with two seasonal forms. Male: FW ground color yellow with a black apex; a dark gray bar at inner margin, separated from the inner margin by an orange stripe; HW black at the apex and at time along entire margin. Female: upperside white (or Yelowish) with black FW apex, HW margin completely black, underside dirty yellow (16-22mm)
