Adult: Species description based on Ibanez et al (1999). A small frog (males to 27 mm, females to 33 mm). Dorsal: The dorsum is brown or greyish, with some faint flecks or other markings. Most individuals have a thin, light, middorsal stripe. A thin black line extends from the nostril, through the eye to the tympanum. The area just above the line often appear lighter in color. Ventral: The ventral surface is cream-colored. Concealed surfaces: The groin is pale with some dark brown flecks or spots. The inner and rear surfaces of the thighs are brown with well-defined cream colored spots. Extremities: The hands and feet are unwebbed.
Habitat: Lowland forest as well as more disturbed, urban environments to 1200 m. Call: A high-pitched two note whistle (Ibanez et al 1999). Type locality: St. Croix, St. Thomas, St. Jan, and Vieques (Virgin Islands)
