Habitat: Underside of rocks and coral fragments. Depth: 3 - 12 m Characteristics: This variable species reaches 44 mm. It has a small, 1.5-whorled, whitish protoconch, and around nine axial ribs, commencing just below the suture, strengthening at the periphery and fading at the base of the body whorl. The columella has three or four folds, and the inside of the white aperture is weakly lirate. The shells are dark golden yellow, with chocolate brown coloration below the sutures and extending downwards between the ribs. The operculum is dark yellow-brown with low concentric growth ridges.
