Habitat: This species can be found in open woodland and in shrubby clearings in the lowlands. Distribution: This species has been reported from southern Mexico to northwestern Peru, extreme northern Brazil and Guyana. Natural History Notes: This species is usually found alone, foraging in trees and on the ground on spiders and insects. Conservation status according to IUCN 2008 Red list: Least Concern (LC). It is a resident species. Characteristics: This species has a total length of 7.5 inches (measured from tip of bill to end of tail). This bird has a slim, decurved and brown flesh bird. The plumage above is brown with beige stripes on the head. The throat is beige-white with beige stripes on the sides of the body. The underparts are pale brown with beige stripes and the wings and the tails are rufous red.
