Diagnostic description: Of small to moderate size (males 17-25 mm, females 17-35 mm); back from smooth to slightly tuberculate, from brown to gray, often with a thin topline and clear or with a pair of thick lines; upper surface of the posterior thighs with dark coffee stains; cream belly with the skin forming halos (Savage 2002).
Habitat: Gardens and vacant lots (Savage 2002).
Reproduction: Produce encapsulated eggs, which are laid in terrestrial conditions; development is direct (no tadpoles) (Savage 2002).
Feeding: It feeds on small insects and spiders (Savage 2002).
Behavior: Nocturnal (Savage 2002).
Distribution in Costa Rica: Introduced species, has been collected in a park in the city of San Jose (Savage 2002).
Distribution outside Costa Rica: A native of the Lesser Antilles, introduced in Bermuda, Jamaica, Trinidad, Venezuela, Guyana, Panama and Costa Rica (Savage 2002).
