Habitat: Marine; inhabit a range of areas including shallow water, bays and docks to deep reefs. Distribution: Wild Cane Key N of Bastimentos Island. Natural History Notes: Mobile invertebrate feeder. Esconce during the day in dark, secluded locations and feed in the open at night. Depth: 1 - 100m Characteristics: Body surface has a strong red to bronze and salmon colouration. Two parallel horizontal white lines often cross the eyes. The fins can have dark tips and the gill cover may exhibit a dusty spot. Has two distinctive dark spots under the rear dorsal fin and at the base of the tail.
