Habitat: On artificial substrates and mangrove roots. Distribution: Bermuda, U.S., Jamaica, Puerto Rico, Guadeloupe, Mexico, Belize, Panama, Brazil, Senegal, Ghana, Hawaii, Guam, Arabian Gulf, Australia, New Caledonia. Characteristics: This is a colonial ascidian with zooids distinct from each other and the two siphons opening independently on the surface of the colony. The zooids are embedded in a common and translucent thin tunic. The size of individuals is around 3.0 mm. It has gonads in both of sides of the body wall, and the slightly lobed testis is characteristic of this species.
