Habitat: Evergreen and semideciduous lowland forests, tolerates second growth and disturbed habitats. Distribution: Mexico through Central America (especially Caribbean lowlands of Costa Rica and Panama coast), to northwestern Colombia. Natural History Notes: Guild 8: Highly Cluttered Space/Gleaning Frugivores (Kalko, et. al., 1996). Feeds on small figs, Characteristics: Moderately small. Forearm 39-42, Mb 15-21 gms. Dorsum medium brown (Mexico) to dark grayish-brown (Costa Rica, Panama), tips of hairs frosted, facial stripes whitish, narrow, may be indistinct. Horseshoe of noseleaf free, tail membrane U-shaped with fringe of sparse hairs, no tail present.
