Habitat: Alpheus bahamensis will favor protected areas such as coral reefs and can be found in dead corrals, coral rocks and in crevices. It has also been found in Thalassia species and mangrove roots. Distribution: This species has been reported from the Bahamas, the Bermuda, Florida, and Panama and from the Gulf of Mexico and the Caribbean. Depth: Intertidal, to about 10 meters. Characteristics: Alpheus bahamensis can reach a length of up to 30 mm. It usually lives in pairs.
