Habitat: Moderate to deep, clear water patch reefs. Distribution: Florida, Caribbean Natural History Notes: One of the most popular aquarium Sea Fans due to its beauty, small size and relative hardiness. Following injury to a colony, rate of new growth exceeds normal branching rate. Depth: 45 - 180 ft. Characteristics: Branches spread widely, fan-like, with smaller branching sections separating from each side of main branch along its lenght at regular spaces in opposite direction. The branches are stiff, color ranges from purple, violet to occasional yellowish and white. Reaches up to 1 to 2 feet in height.
