Habitat: Clear water, moderate to deep fore reef environments. Distribution: Caribbean Depth: 40 - 120 ft. Characteristics: From Reef Coral Identification : Colonies have open pinnate branching in single planes; older coonies may be somewhat bushy. Branchlets short, stiff and widely spaced. Hard, rough calyces; each has a distinctive, long, sharp terminal spine. Branches whitish to light gray or yellow-brown; polyps yellowish brown. Colony height: 8 - 18 in.
