Natural History Notes: A study in the Bahamas showed that protoconch length increased with depth from 0 to 40 - 52 m (Robertson 1994). This species can be found on dock pilings in canals, living in association with Characteristics: Maximum reported size: 15mm. The soft parts of the animal are mostly whitish with a few orange-brown dots. The tentacles are orange with a few white spots. The operculum is fragile, colorless and translucent. The shell is delicate. The protoconch has 3.5 to 5 whorls, and tends to be smaller in shallow water. The lower whorls tend to be loosely coiled. Spacing of the blade-like costae is variable.
