Habitat: On artificial substrates. Distribution: West Atlantic: Florida, Gulf of Mexico, Caribbean Sea; South Africa, Mediterranean Sea, Red Sea, Philippines, Australia, New Zealand, New Caledonia. Characteristics: Colonies are pedunculated, as a mushroom. Small zooids, with an atrial languet, 4 rows of sitgmata, 13-18 stigmatas per row, parastigmatic vessels, stomach plicated (18-20 longitudinal plications). The testis has around 6 follicles; the ovary has few eggs and is situated posterior to the male gonad.
