Habitat: The Spotted woodcreeper will favor humid forests in foothills. Distribution: This species has been reported from central Mexico to western Ecuador. Natural History Notes: Like the other woodcreeper species, the Spotted woodcreeper likes to be alone and will be surrounded by other insectivorous birds. Conservation status according to IUCN 2008 Red list: Least Concern (LC). Characteristics: This species has a total length of 7.5 inches (measured from tip of bill to end of tail). This bird has a slightly decurved bill of a dark gray coloration. The plumage on the above is usually olive brown with some beige stripes on the nape. The throat is buffy and the underparts are olive brown colored, but with beige spots in the shape of drops. The wings and the tail are rufous red.
