Habitat: This Thrush species may be observed in humid forests and forest borders in foothills. Distribution: This species has been reported from Costa Rica to western Ecuador. Natural History Notes: The Pale-vented Thrush is a shy bird that mostly stays in trees. Its song consists of a fast interspersed "chrrrr" and squeaky notes. Conservation status according to IUCN 2008 Red list: Least Concern (LC). Characteristics: This species has a total length of 23 cm (measured from tip of bill to end of tail). This bird has a black bill and a dark iris. The plumage is uniformly reddish brown with fine gray stripes on the throat. The plumage is duller below and contrasts greatly with the white belly and the white under tail-coverts.
