Habitat: This Flycatcher can be found in wooded or forested areas throughout Panama. Distribution: This species is migratory. It breeds in southeastern Arizona and Mexico to Costa Rica. It migrates in Ecuador, Peru and Bolivia. Natural History Notes: The Sulphur-bellied Flycatcher is usually found perched on a branch at high tree levels. It usually catches insect while flying, but also feeds on berries and seeds. Conservation status according to IUCN 2008 Red list: Least Concern (LC). Characteristics: This species has a total length of 8 inches (measured from tip of bill to end of tail). This bird has an olive brown plumage above and a brownish gray crown on top of the head. The wing-coverts have their edged whitish colored. We can also distinguish the dark gray moustachial stripes that connects across the chin. This bird is characterized by the lower underparts that are sulphur yellow.
