Habitat: Common on reef's cryptic habitats, usually growing as thin crusts; rare on mangrove roots, where it grows as thick. Distribution: Belize, Panama, Venezuela. Characteristics: Encrusting (.3-4 cm thick), dull orange to yellow externally, lighter internally. Surface visually smooth in thin specimens, rugose on thicker ones. Oscules with transparent membranes (1-6 mm in diameter) with thin (1-2 mm) canals departing radially. Soft and compressible, easy to tear.
