Habitat: This Flycatcher species favors shrubby areas and woodland borders in lowlands. It will favor localities near water sources. Distribution: This species is migratory. It breeds in North America and migrate south from Guatemala to northern Argentina. Natural History Notes: In the past, this bird and the Alder Flycatcher were considered to be a single species, Trail's Flycatcher. Conservation status according to IUCN 2008 Red list: Least Concern (LC). Characteristics: This species has a total length of 14 cm (measured from tip of bill to end of tail). This bird has a brown plumage above with a fine white ring around the eye. The wings and the tail are dark gray with two whitish wing-bars. The throat is whitish and the breast is gray to brownish colored. The belly is pale yellow.
