Adult: Species description based on Duellman (2001). A large treefrog (males to 78 mm, females to 80 mm). Males have a spine on the thumb. Dorsal: The dorsum is light brown, with some darker brown markings. The sides are pale with brown vertical bars. The arms and legs are barred. Ventral: The ventral surface is white, except for the throat, which is grey. Concealed surfaces: The rear surfaces of the thighs are pale, with dark brown bars. Eye: The iris is pale green or blue. Extremities: The feet are extensively webbed with brown webbing.
Habitat: Lowland forest to 700 m. Call: A series of repeated notes (Duellman 2001). Type locality: Chiriquiflusse unweit Bocca del toro (Panama) (but see Duellman 1977)
