Habitat: This species can be found near the ocean. Distribution: This species breeds locally on tropical islands, including Panama and Colombia. Natural History Notes: This bird species is mainly pelagic when it is not breeding. In order to obtain food, this species tends to pick up the food from the surface and does not seem to dive. Conservation status according to IUCN 2008 Red list: Least Concern (LC). Characteristics: The total length of this species is 38.10 cm (measured from tip of bill to end of tail). This large bird has a mainly dark brown coloration, with the exception of a pale gray forecrown. The beak is sharp and black. Also the tail is wedge-shaped.
