Distribution: This species is native from eastern Africa, but has been reported from Hawai, Japan and some localities in the Western Atlantic Ocean. Characteristics: This species has a carapace 10 mm long and 15 mm wide. The carapace has high lobules separated by deep furrows filled with downy fur and long hairs. Then, the anterolateral border has 4 rounded lobes. The chelipeds have rounded nodules on the wrist and the palm. Finally, the walking legs are very hairy.
