Adult: Species description based on Crawford et al (2010). A small frog (to 20 mm). Only males have been found so far. Dorsal: Dorsal coloration consists of various shades of reddish-brown. A W-shaped ridge is present just behind the head. Some granular bumps are scattered across the dorsal surface. Ventral: The ventral surface is lightly pigmented with black, with some irregular white spotting. The ventral surface is fairly transparent. Concealed surfaces: Pale orange or red spots or blotches are present on the inner surfaces of the thighs and the groin. The rear surfaces of the thighs are reddish or dark brown with small orange or red spots. Eye: The iris ranges in color from maroon to rosy gold. Habitat: Pristimantis adnus is known only from the type locality. Type locality: approximately 700 m in elevation at the foot of Cerro Pina in the Serranıa del Sapo, above the Rıo Pina on the Pacific coast of the Darien Province, Republic of Panama |
