Habitat: Inhabit both brackish and marine water. Pelagic. Adults often found near the surface, and juveniles amongst mangroves, estuaries and shallow sheltered inner reef areas. Distribution: Cristobal Island, Crael Key, Hospital Point and Wild Cane Key North of Bastimentos Island Natural History Notes: Diurnal and often solitary. Feeds on fish, cephalopods and shrimp. Adult length 1.5ft to 3ft., max. 6ft. Depth: 0 - 100m Characteristics: Long silver body with scattered black spots along the lowerside of the fish. Can darken and display lateral bands. Dorsal fins separated widely. Also has an underslung jaw and sharp teeth.
