Depth: up to 5 meters Characteristics: The species Thalassia testudinum is widely distributed in the Caribbean Sea and the Gulf of Mexico. In addition to be the most common species in the province of Bocas del Toro, it can be found at a water depth of up to 5 meters and at a distance of more than 500 meters away from the coast. It can be found almost in the whole region with some exceptions along the coast of Laguna in Chiriqui, where this species is restricted to the base level area of the Cricamola river and on the west side of the lake in Punta Róbalo.
