Habitat: This bivalve is usually found in shallow water. Distribution: This species has been reported from South Florida to the West Indies and the Bahamas. Characteristics: Caribachlamys imbricata has a length of 1.5 inches. It has a rather flat shape and tha valves are scarcely arched. We can distinguish 9 to 20 stout ribs. The wings are unequal in size. The color pattern is composed of a white background with some pink stripes. The interior is rather yellowish with the margins more purple colored.
