Habitat: Alpheus viridari will favor habitats such as sandy bottoms and mangroves. It will often hide under rocks and in beds of Thalassia and Halimedia species. Distribution: This species has been reported from Florida and throughout the Caribbean Sea. It is a common species and has been collected in Panama in Bocas del Toro and in Isla Grande. Natural History Notes: Alpheus viridari usually lives in pairs of male-female and will often hide in crevices of rocks and corals. Depth: This species is present in the intertidal, between 1-5 m. Characteristics: Alpheus viridari can reach a body length of up to 40 mm.
