Habitat: This Vireo species will favor forest borders, open woodland and shrubby clearings, in the highlands. Distribution: This species is migratory. It breeds in North America and Alaska, and migrate south to Mexico and Central America. Natural History Notes: The Warbling Vireo is sometimes considered to be conspecific with the Brown-capped Vireo (Vireo leucophrys). This bird forages for insects in trees, hopping along branches and sometimes hovering. It also eats berries, especially before migration. Conservation status according to IUCN 2008 Red list: Least Concern (LC). Characteristics: This species has a total length of 12 cm (measured from tip of bill to end of tail). This bird has a brown iris and a ligh facial area. Its also has a broad bill and large blue-gray legs. The plumage is mainly olive-gray on the head and the upperparts, with some white coloration on the underparts. We can also distinguish a white supercilium. The birds reported from Bocas del Toro are generally smaller.
