Habitat: The Long-tailed woodcreeper can be found in humid forests in lowlands and foothills. Distribution: This species has been reported from eastern Honduras to eastern Peru and Amazonian Brazil. Natural History Notes: This species usually forages alone, and sometimes in pairs. They usually forage at the lower and middle tree levels. Conservation status according to IUCN 2008 Red list: Least Concern (LC). Characteristics: The total length of this species varies between 7.5 inches and 8 inches (measured from tip of bill to end of tail). This bird has a slim shape with a short straight bill. The plumage is light brown on the above with beige superciliary and beige stripes on the crown (top of the head). Then, the part below is also light brown with the throat pale beige. We can distinguish large duff spots on the chest and a couple of beige stripes on the breast. The tail and the wings are rufous red. It is important to note that this species has a longer tail than the other woodcreeper species and that male usually has a tail significantly longer than that of the female
