Habitat: Commonly found in intertidal flats. Distribution: This species has been reported from the Western Atlantic Ocean. Natural History Notes: This species builds a permanent burrow in mud or fine sediment, that will have a J-shape and the end curved upward. Each burrow will have two siphons that will reach the sediment surface. This animal is also an intertidal filter feeder. Characteristics: Tagelus divisus measures in average 3.8 cm long. Its shape is elongates and the valves are also rounded and glossy yellow. On the middle of each valve, we can distinguish a purple band.
