(1997) suggests that a yellowish protein or protein subunit is responsible for the low level intrinsic Electrochemiluminescence exhibited by this tunicate. Shares a commensal relationship with a nest building bivalue, Musculus lateralis. Depth: 0.5 m Characteristics: Individuals (1.0 cm long) are round and covered by sand. The gonad encircles a renal sac on the right side of the body. The left side gonad is in U-shaped and included within the intestinal loop.
