Habitat: Intertidal Natural History Notes: Buccinum pulchellum C. B. Adams, 1851 is a synonym. Characteristics: The shell reaches a maximum size of 4mm, has a smooth, bulbous protoconch of 1.5 dark brown whorls. Adults have three moderately convex whorls, with low-lying axial ribs crossed by black-brown spiral cords to form small beads. The shell is pale orange between the cords. The operculum is yellow-brown, thin and translucent. The animal is creamy yellow, with patches of black on the head and upper surface of the foot. Notes: The species was first reported as Decipifus pulchellus.
