Habitat: In sand under rocks and near shore in shallow, moderately protected water. Characteristics: Shell reaches about 4 mm, and can be white, sometimes with some orange-brown mottling. Small bars of orange-brown cossing the anterior edge of the varix and staining the inside of the aperture may be present. The operculum is yellow-brown. A distinguishing feature are the 15 to 30 axial rings that become larger and moer separated at the anterior end.
