Habitat: This species is rarely seen in Panama. However, you may find it in dense shrubby thickets and woodland borders. Distribution: This species is migratory. It breeds in north-central North America and winters in Venezuela, eastern Colombia and northern Brazil, and flying through the West Indies and very occasionally through Panama. Natural History Notes: Conservation status according to IUCN 2008 Red list: Least Concern (LC). Characteristics: This species has a total length of 14 cm (measured from tip of bill to end of tail). both male and female show a characteristic white-beige ring around the eye. Then, the male has an olive green plumage on the above with a gray hood on top of the head and the underparts are pale yellow. The female looks similar, except for the hood that is browner and the throat that shows a paler coloration.
